Fire Ants in my Ear Canal
This morning was the first time in years that I called in sick to a job. I never call in sick, it’s against my work ethic. I figure I can work through a cold and I usually get the flu on weekends. It is just my luck that it happens this way. However, Thursday I started coming down with the cold. I tried to ignore it, drowning myself in nyquil, dayquil, comtrex, shots of lemon juice, ginger ale and bland chicken noodle soup. Actually…chicken with rice…I can’t seem to find chicken noodle soup anywhere. I continued to work, finishing up 60 hours on Friday and putting in an additional three on Saturday, then foolishly going to a Super Bowl party on Sunday. I stopped smoking pot about a year ago, but i have some friends who smoke fairly religiously and there was plenty of it in the air that night. I think it was the second hand smoke that brought this on so much worse. It probably enhanced the phlem in my lungs. Monday was bad, but I went to work…but this morning I woke up to the feeling of fire ants building a home in my ear canals. The pain shot straight down to my throat and I could barely speak. Reluctantly I called in sick. I’m feeling better at the moment, but i will probably expend a lot of healing energy screaming at the screen tonight during the State of the Union Address. Why is it I get more worked up over politics then I do over sporting events?
So…to prepare for tonights festivities…I now will take a State of the Union power nap.
HAHAHA. I actually gogles fire ants in my ear. It seems I took your statement literally. Becuase this morning, I afire ant in my ear. I could hear somthing in my ear, so i put peroxide in my ear. sure enough..a huge fire ant came out of my ear.. and I wamted to know if anyone had that experience, beucase my ear hurts now and t itches on the inside.. I hope that fucker didnt end up biting me insdie my ear..and I hope I dont get an infection from it either..
Lol. Found this post on an ol’ google post. I heard what sounded like fizzy water in my ear this morning. Tonight, I was cleaning my ears with a QTip and a fire ant came out!!! So gross!!!!! My first thought was “damn, I hope it didn’t lay eggs” but only queens lay eggs. Thank you awesome husband for the reminder!
