After we lose in November…will it be The Handmaid’s Tale, 1984 or Brave New World?
I was in love with Howard Dean. Honestly, I was. I still am. But others didn’t share my love so they defamed him, played dirty and made him out to be a scoundrel. Nobody knows that he had the best health care plan. No one knows that he vowed to break up the big media corporations. No one knows that he said he would give the FDA a year to review the pros and cons for applications of medical marijuana. No one knows that he balanced the budget in Vermont year after year after year…not many governors do that.
We know he was against the war in Iraq. We know he gets “angry.” Grrrr. That’s it. That’s what we know.
So I decided that if the media was going to determine my candidate for me, I should look into the candidate they want me to vote for. I was never sold on John kerry. I’m still not. I don’t even think there is a point in going to the voting booth to vote for him. I don’t think he can win the south…or do I believe that because the media told me that is the way it is? Not that Dean had much of a better chance of winning the South. If there was a Dean-Clark ticket…that would have been something, but Clark won’t go for it.
So I look at Edwards. I like Edwards a lot. I decided that a Kerry-Edwards ticket would be the way to go. Now Edwards is saying he won’t share the ticket with anyone. He needs to be number one. People think Kerry and Hillary Clinton could win. I don’t know. A lot of people dislike Hillary…including me. After 2000 she said she would look into changing the electoral system, that it was out-dated and needed to go. She did nothing about it. Now it is too late. When asked if the Democratic Party needed a face-lift, she flat out said, “No.”
That’s just being ignorant. Why don’t these politicians see that they are playing a game of alienation and apathy breeding that Dean had somehow countered?
So I am currently looking into Australia or Canada as possible places to go when I need to file for political amnesty at the end of this year when we lose. I want to get out before the “Handmaid’s Tale,” “Brave New World,” or “1984″ becomes reality.
