Caffeinated Deja Vu
UPDATE: As suspected, it was an honest mistake. Thanks to CP for being proactive!
One of my favorite political blogs in Madison is Caffeinated Politics. It is on my list of “must stops” when I wake up and start my day. Also on my list of “first stops” is the Daily Kos. Yesterday morning I giggled as I visited the Daily Kos to read Bill from Portland’s answering machine messages conversation between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Bill writes the popular front page Daily Kos feature Cheers and Jeers and it is often a highlight of my week.
This morning I experienced a bit of deja vu when I opened Caffeinated Politics and found an answering machine message conversation between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama – the same one that appeared on Daily Kos yesterday with the exception that instead of saying it was left on an answering machine in Maine it was left on CP’s Wisconsin answering machine.
I’m sure the lack of attribution was simply a mistake and I hope CP will take the time to make the necessary correction.

Let me say first thank you for bringing this to my attention.
I am the writer of Caffeinated Politics. On Wednesday afternoon a friend sent me the ‘answering machine’ joke in an email. It was not soureced, but it made me laugh. As such I used it. Several folks have since alerted me to the source, and the update at the top of the post now supplies the link to where the joke was first published. I do not think something like this has ever happended on my blog before, and since I try to have a credible blog, I take this matter very seriously.
Thanks again for bringing this to my attention.
