Saving Spaced

Spaced is one of the best British television shows you likely have never seen. It fell into my radar shortly after Shaun of the Dead was released for American audiences and I have longed hoped, although known it was highly unlikely, to have more episodes of the series. When I learned that they were making an American version I was very sad. I just can’t see the television show translating well to American audiences – especially under the producer eye of McG. Yikes. I hate that guy (think Charlie Angels). Now Edgar Wright has come out against “McSpaced” because they are essentially stealing his characters, most of his scripts, and Americanizing them. The original cast and writers have zero to do with this new version. You can view his protest video below and then under that the complete first episode of Spaced. I highly recommend taking 24 minutes out of your day and watching it. You can thank me later.

  1. The filmmaking style of these guys is absolutely incredible, the way they mix so many different styles in a satirical fashion so perfectly. They can pretty much do no wrong for me.
